Line Chart

The SenseOps Line Chart extension in Qlik Sense provides advanced customization capabilities that go far beyond the native line chart. It enables deeper insights through enhanced styling, interactive elements, custom tooltips, multiple line formats, point designs, and rich visual customization options. This guide will help you get started with the SenseOps Line Chart, outlining its features and powerful customization capabilities.

Accessing Line Chart

Step 1. Open Qlik Sense Application: Open your Qlik Sense Hub and choose the application where you want to add the Line Chart.

Step 2. Enter Edit Mode: Navigate to the sheet or create a new one where the Line Chart will be placed. Enter Edit Mode to make changes.

Step 3. Access Custom Objects: In the left panel, click on Custom Objects to open the menu.

Step 4. Select SenseOps Extension: Locate and select SenseOps from the custom objects list.

Step 5. Add SenseOps Line Chart: Find the SenseOps Line Chart extension and drag it onto the sheet canvas.

Line Customization

  • Customize the line’s color, width, stroke dash, and shadow.
  • Choose between various curve styles such as Natural, Linear, Step, Smooth, and more.
  • Toggle the visibility of the line entirely when needed.

Area Fill

  • Enable area shading below the line to emphasize trends.
  • Adjust area opacity for subtle or strong shading.
  • Apply a gradient fill with adjustable offset for a more polished visual appearance.

Points (Markers)

  • Easily enable or disable point markers.
  • Choose between Shapes, Icons, or Images for markers.
  • Customize each marker’s:
    • Shape (circle, square, triangle, etc.)
    • Size
    • Fill color
    • Stroke (border) color

Trendline

  • Add regression-based trendlines to emphasize long-term patterns.
  • Choose from:
    • Linear
    • Exponential
    • Logarithmic
    • Power
    • Polynomial
  • Customize trendline style using:
    • Dash style
    • Opacity
    • Width

Advanced Tooltip Options

  • Pick between a simple Basic Tooltip or a more detailed Custom Tooltip.
  • Custom tooltips allow adding:
    • A title
    • Description
    • Additional measures
    • Mini-charts
    • Images
    • Fully formatted custom HTML
  • You can also control tooltip background color, transparency, font size, and font color.

Colors & Themes

  • Choose between automatic coloring or full manual customization.
  • Color the line by dimension or apply a solid color.
  • Use predefined color schemes :
    • Qlik Sense 12
    • Qlik Sense 100
    • D3 Category 10
    • Multi-Color 20
  • Or create your own custom color scheme for a personalized palette.

Legend Customization

  • Show or hide the legend as needed.
  • Position the legend at:
    • Top
    • Bottom
    • Left
    • Right
  • Adjust:
    • Alignment
    • Box height
    • Font size & color
    • Background styling

X-Axis Customization

  • Show or hide the X-axis and its labels.
  • Choose axis placement: Top or Bottom.
  • Customize:
    • Axis line color & thickness
    • Label text, size, color, and font
    • Tick visibility and orientation (horizontal, tilted, vertical)
    • Tick label formatting
    • Prefix or suffix for ticks

Y-Axis Customization (Left & Right)

Both left and right Y-axes include:

Gridlines

Reference Lines

  • Add reference lines based on:
    • A dimension value
